ਗੈਲਰੀ 5: ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਲਹਿਰ

ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਰਸਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਸਿੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਮਹੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਬਜ਼ੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਤਾਨਵੀ ਹਕੂਮਤ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਨੀਤੀ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਜੱਥੇ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਨਿਕਲੇ। ਇਕ ਤਕੜੇ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਬਜ਼ੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਲਿਆਂਦੇ ਗਏ। ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਲਹਿਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਕੇਂਦਰਾਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਆਦਿ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਬਰਤਾਨਵੀ ਦਖ਼ਲ ਅੰਦਾਜ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ।

Gallery 5: Gurdwara Reform Movement

In this shows the Sikhs set out in ‘Jathas’ questioning the legitimacy of the Mahant’s control over their shrines and the British Policy of protecting the latter. After much struggle the Gurdwaras were brought under the control of the Sikhs. This is known as the Akali Movement. It also influenced the seats of knowledge like the Khalsa college to be made free of British interference and influences.
